In Feng Shui, a money tree is said to bring in good luck and prosperity. The leaves are thought to detoxify the air and attract wealth, while the branches are believed to support your financial goals.
The five leaves on a money tree are considered lucky in China, where the tree is believed to have originated. The meaning of the five leaves varies by region, but it is typically associated with wealth, protection and positive energy.
To keep your pachira aquatica healthy, give it plenty of light, water and fertilizer. You can also add a few coins or bills to the pot to encourage good luck.
If you’re looking for a home decor item that’s both beautiful and functional, add a money tree to your collection!
Caring for a money tree
Choose a location for your money tree
Choose a location that gets plenty of filtered sunlight and fresh air. You can place your money tree in a window or near an open door.
I have west facing windows and my pachira aquatica does well on the opposite side of the windows. Since it does not sit too close to the windows, I can easily open the windows for fresh air throughout the day and evening.
Add a few coins or bills to the pot (optional)
I love crystals, so I added citrine and a few fun figurines to the pot. I have a little fairy and unicorn. They are so cute.
Water and fertilize your money tree
If you are lucky enough to have an aquarium, use the aquarium water to water your plants! You have a natural fertilizer!
With a little bit of care, a money tree can bring good luck and prosperity to your home. As you can see, they are pretty easy to care for. Find the right spot in your home that brings in bright indirect light. If the light is too bright, place your plant on the opposite wall from the window.
Good luck with your new money tree!
