Last week, a fellow plant friend and I did a swap! We sent each other cuttings and baby plants we didn’t already have in our collection! Awesome, right?! Today, we share how new growth brings hope and happiness! Celebrate with us!

One of the babies I was sent did not look very promising when it arrived! The leaves were already limp and lifeless. They just didn’t look very promising! However, that didn’t stop me from trying to save it.
Here is what how the plant looked when it arrived:

As you can see, it suffered a bit from the long journey. Still, I stayed positive. I kept feeling the leaves and stems throughout the week. The leaves were lifeless but the stems were still healthy feeling. They were strong!
The plant is a Philodendron Black Cardinal.
It may be a common Philodendron, however, I didn’t have one!
Do you have philodendrons? If so, which ones?
I currently have Prince Of Orange Philodendron and Pink Princess Philodendron! As I write this, I am already thinking about the next Philodendron I want! Can you guess which one?
So, as you can imagine, I wanted my new Philodendron Black Cardinal to survive!
Below is a picture of what I found!

New growth! This picture was taken about a week after I received my new cuttings and babies!
I’ve kept this plant in a bright indirect spot near an East facing window. I also use a grow light overnight. So, I’ve been babying this plant!
